Often a special anniversary or a significant event will make couples want to reconnect with their original commitment and lead them to revisit their original ceremony or create a brand new one.
It allows couples to reflect on the journey they have travelled thus far and acknowledge their commitment to continue together forever with renewed energy and love.
Commitment ceremonies can take many forms. They can be just like a wedding without the legal words and can be as formal or informal as you please. Usually they are lots of fun as the nerves of the real wedding are not present and therefore the ceremony tends to be an even more relaxed occasion. Often these ceremonies are for couples who have had a private legal ceremony and now want to celebrate with a greater circle of friends and family or couples who for their own reason do not wish to marry but still want to celebrate their love and happy ever after commitment.
Often we are forced to say goodbye to a companion who has meant so very much to us either individually or as a family. This is one of the hardest things to do. A small remembrance ceremony can help to ease the hurt and give thanks for the love and devotion your pet brought to your family. This time can be used to reflect on the special place this companion has had in our hearts and provide them with a meaningful farewell.
The opportunity to remember a loved one after their death can be empowering and healing. Sometimes we don't get to say goodbye and the time immediately after the passing is just so painful that we can't say all the things we would want. I would be privileged to assist in creating a ceremony that is meaningful and healing.
There are many opportunities open to you for celebrating which can be unique to you and your family whereby family history and culture can be acknowledged and old and new traditions can be celebrated and created. Significant moments in our lives or Rites of Passage can include occasions such as: coming of age; a big 'O' birthday moment; leaving or returning home; graduation; special anniversaries; or a new home.
A great chance to welcome your bundle of joy to your family, this ceremony also provides an opportunity to publically acknowledge the special people you have chosen to watch over and guide your little one. It’s the time to bestow special blessings on your child for the future.
Some people have a welcome celebration when a new member is added to the family through adoption, fostering or blending of families and this is a great chance for all members of the new family unit to take part in building their future.
